Mike Long’s Biggest Magic Secret: Revealed

Yo,

I just got back from a VERY interesting ‘walk down memory lane.’ Last week I spent a week in Charlottesville Virginia, my home for most of my Pro Magic career.

Why was I there, and what made it so interesting? Well that’s a story for another day (I promise I’ll tell you soon!) but for now, I want to tell you about something even more important…

I’m going to reveal to you my single biggest Magic secret.

Yep. I’m going to tell you about the single biggest factor in my Magic success—bar none. This ‘secret weapon’ was the ‘critical factor’ all of my greatest Magic triumphs.

Before I begin though, I’d like to share a phone call I received from loyal ‘MTG Insider’ and ‘MTG Secrets’ owner Mason Peatross (yes—THAT Mason Peatross, from Brainburst.com)

“…A Lot Of The Theory That Mike Taught Me I Use Basically Every Time In My Very Popular Brainburst Articles …”

“…I was a little skepticle...I thought 'Should I pay money for technology?'...The information I got from Mike translated into many many wins...In fact I'm waiting for Mike to publish MTG Secrets so I can get my rating back up. I found MTG Secrets to be valuable because...

The key concept that Mason referred to both in limited and constructed is what we call the ‘Ultimate Deck’ factor in MTG Secrets.

But I have something to share with you…

I didn’t invent this concept!

Sure I used it to make three Pro Tour limited Top 8s and to power my Pro Tour Paris Championship. I also used the ‘Ultimate Deck’ factor in Magic Invitational Barcelona championship (the one that allowed me to create my own Magic card, Rootwater Thief—can YOU imagine designing your own Magic card? Hrm, maybe there’s a way that I can help YOU realize that dream…I’ll keep you posted later this week:-)

(my Magic Invitational card--Rootwater Thief)

If you’re a fan of Type I you might have heard of ‘the Keeper’—a Type I control deck that I used to take 2nd in the Hong Kong Magic Invitational. I’ve gotten literally HUNDREDS of emails asking how I created that deck…

You know what? I didn’t!

One of the most famous decks in the history of Magic, I’m credited with creating it and I just didn’t.

Where am I going with this? I’ll tell you in a moment, but first let me share another little ‘secret’ with you…

One of the most famous moment’s in my Magic career was when I ‘tricked’ Mark Justice to concede a game to me that I literally couldn’t win with the cards left in my deck! Normally that wouldn’t have been that big of a deal, if that game hadn’t basically won me $10,000!

Want to know something else? Not my idea. Sure, I was the one who pulled it off, but the ‘Jedi Mind Trick’ I used to make this possible—which we explain in MTG Secrets—called ‘Pace Pace Pace Lead’ I learned from someone else!

(Can you imagine using Jedi Mind Mastery to ‘steal’ a game for $10,000?)

Ok, ok so what’s going on here?

Where did these ideas come from? Did I learn them from some yoga master/Magic super-genius? Did I track down the world’s leading master in Type I Magic, mind games AND deck construction?

Well…yes.

And here’s the REAL secret. ‘They’ are actually just ONE person. Who is this one Magic master that you may not have ever heard of? (I’ll give you a hint, he was the very first player in the history of Magic to make the FINALS of two professional tournaments—despite the fact that he only played pro Magic for 1 year!)

Who am I talking about? In part two of this blog entry I’ll reveal the identity of this ‘masked Magic master’ AND tell you how you can benefit from his teachings as well! Don’t worry, you’ll only have to wait a day or two, and in the mean time, feel free to ‘conjecture’ as to who this mystery Magic man is (you can even post a comment to this entry with your ‘prediction’).

Regards,

Mike

PS Yes I was 100% serious when I said I could think of a way that YOU could design your own Magic card that Wizards of the Coast would print in a future Magic set—more news on that to come!
